Standardized anthropometric measurements including height, body weight and waist circumference. Height was measured to the nearest centimetre using a SECA stadiometer and body weight to the nearest 0.1 kg using a calibrated scale with participants wearing light clothing. Waist circumference was measured midway between the lowest rib and iliac crest in standing position during exhalation. Measurements were recorded twice and averaged.

REF
REF (Reference Group); Community-dwelling healthy older adults with good metabolic health and mobility and who are physically active; reference population for comparison with compromised groups. This population was assessed at the Leiden University Medical Center in Leiden, the Netherlands.
