Whole-body composition was measured using dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA). Participants were scanned in a fasted state while wearing light clothing. The scan provided measurements of appendicular lean mass (ALM), whole-body lean mass, regional and total fat mass, and bone mineral density using manufacturer software.

Population
REF
REF (Reference Group); Community-dwelling healthy older adults with good metabolic health and mobility and who are physically active; reference population for comparison with compromised groups. This population was assessed at the Leiden University Medical Center in Leiden, the Netherlands.
